After calling Orlando its headquartered location for over 50 years, Magruder Eye Institute announced today that they will be constructing a brand-new, state-of-the-art eye care center and surgical facility in Winter Park, Fla.
Orlando, Fla. (March 10, 2021) — Magruder Eye Institute announced today that after more than five decades calling Orlando their home, they are building new eye care center and surgical facility in Winter Park, Fla.
“As Central Florida’s standard for excellence in eye care, we’re excited to bring our headquarters operation to a premier Winter Park location,” Chad Tomlinson, Magruder Eye’s business operations executive, said.
The new Magruder Eye Institute headquarters will be located in the Ravaudage live-work-play development at the corner of Lee Road and N. Orlando Avenue. The eye care group will keep its four full-service, satellite vision centers in Lake Nona, Wekiva, SoDo and Kissimmee. They also have six optical centers for eye exams and retail for glasses, frames and contact lenses serving Orlando, SoDo, Lake Nona, Wekiva, Kissimmee and Clearwater. The ophthalmology group plans to announce the opening of more eye care centers across Central Florida later this year.
“This innovative medical center for eye care will be a tremendous addition to Winter Park’s burgeoning healthcare scene,” Dr. John T. Lehr, the chief medical officer at Magruder Eye Institute, said. “The collaboration of ophthalmologic surgeons, optometrists and eye care experts will rival our nation’s top vision centers.”
The new Magruder Eye Institute will share its home with Lakeside Surgery Center, housing a handful of high-tech surgical suites for outside surgeons to operate. “The integration of other types of surgical procedures with our eye care team will bring an increased level of teamwork and innovation to Winter Park’s medical community.”
Dan Bellow’s Sydgan Corp., is developing the mixed-use village set to house the new Magruder Eye Institute. The new construction will be a collaborative effort by Eckert Wordell, Finfrock, and LMG Construction Services.
“Magruder Eye Institute has a reputation of being the best in the industry for what they do, and having them front and center at the Ravaudage development in Winter Park is exciting for all of us involved in the development. We are happy to have Magruder Eye Institute come into Winter Park,” Bellows said.
